Weed and Seed Meeting

There will be a meeting open to the public for the Weed and Seed program. The meeting will take place at the Artist Collective, 1200 Albany Ave., on April 18th starting at 5:00PM.

University of Hartford SIFE Team

The University of Hartford's Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) Team placed first runner up at the New York Regional SIFE Competition. Students working with the Micro business incubator presented their experiences to a pannel of judges and spoke about other projects the SIFE team conducted through out the past year. Design Committee Meeting

The next meeting for the Design Committee will be held April 19th at 10:00AM. Please take note that the new venue for the meeting is the Artist Collective, 1200 Albany Ave., at the corner of Albany Ave. and Woodland St. The expected topics to be covered are- Avenue Reconstruction, Sewer Seperation, Safety Improvements, and Streetscaping.

Public Safety Project Study

Larry Amarucci of ADT Security Systems is finalizing the Albany Avenue Public Safety Project study to be presented in January. After the public meeting in October, community stakeholders in Upper Albany and Clay Arsenal performed a physical site survey to identify the best locations for security cameras to be installed along Albany Avenue. That information is being incorporated into a comprehensive study that will be used to help design a camera system that will help improve public safety along all of Albany Avenue.
