On Friday, August 29, 2014, Dan Haar from the Hartford Courant featured a post that highlights the recent happenings on the avenue. The article features Scotts’ Jamaican Bakery, Upper Albany Main Street, Route 44 Safety Improvement Project, Fichman Eye Care, and ILuxury Products. Haar’s article made reference to Colin McEnroe’s interview with the elder Scott (who told of his trek across Route 44 nearly 30 years ago).
Harr asserted that as a follow-up to the McEnroe interview, he recently interviewed Gordon Scott in an effort to gain a “big-picture view” from the [Scott] son.
In excerpt, the article stated:
“There is something happening. People are a lot more positive about Hartford,” Gordon Scott said, his tall frame leaning out from behind the bakery counter as we spoke. “There is a sea change, and as a result, there is more interest.”
