Today Upper Albany Main Street is proud to present Dr. Fichman of Fichman Eye Care Center. Dr. Fichman spoke about the community and how business owners and the city’s officials should take responsibility for the facade of Albany Ave. When a small business owner comes in and is improving the area, there should be some assistance from the City, a partnership so to speak. “More and better businesses bring in tax revenue for the City.” Dr. Fichman also spoke about his idea of the snowflake effect. He said “when you look out of your window and see that first snowflake falling to the ground and an hour later there is a foot of snow covering the ground. That this is how beautification begins with one building/storefront to the next and beyond.” The students appreciated Dr. Fichman and his sincere and emotional explanation of the community that he grew up in. It was very evident that he has a lot of love for the Albany Ave area.
