The City of Hartford Police Department held their Promotions Ceremony on Thursday, February 10, 2011 to celebrate the new promotions and appointments in their ranks. A big congratulations goes out to Assistant Chief John K. Horvath and Deputy Chief Sansom, both long-time supporters of the Upper Albany Main Street program and the Upper Albany community!

Mayor Eddie Perez presented information on the Rte. 44 Safety Improvement plan last night with a diverse audience from the community and organizations such as Upper Albany Main Street, the Department of Transportation, and the Capital Region Council of Governments. Upper Albany has been working extensively with the legislation and with key players to help move this project forward, and would like to thank all who came for their dedication to the Upper Albany neighborhood revitalization efforts.

Mayor Eddie Perez will be hosting a meeting this upcoming Wednesday about the Route 44 Safety Improvement Project. We have been working hard to promote increased safety measures within and for our community, and everyone is invited to come meet with Mayor Perez about the progress of these endeavors.

At the August 13th Design Committee meeting held at the Artists Collective Mayor Perez announced that the Route 44 Safety Improvement Project has been dropped from the priority list and that both state and federal funds are being cut. The concerned stakeholders in the community were able to voice their opinions and rally together in an attempt organize efforts to bring awareness to state delegation.
